Designed specifically for the cruise industry, Elements of the Cruise Industry is a week long residential course, which gives participants a clear understanding of how the industry works, what its needs are and how it is likely to develop in the future.

It offers a comprehensive introduction to all areas of the industry, so it is aimed at newcomers in need of a solid foundation, as well as those already working in the cruise industry who wish to broaden their knowledge and perspective.

The course is of benefit to all sectors including cruise line executives, destinations and ports, tourist authorities, ship builders and designers, suppliers to the industry, banks, lawyers and travel agents.

Emphasis is placed on interaction between the lecturers and participants, which extends to the social activities allowing real friendships and important business relationships to develop amongst those attending the course. A central feature of the course is the interactive group case study, a worthwhile and rewarding exercise which involves participants adopting specific roles and dividing into teams to plan a winning fantasy cruise itinerary. This allows for hands-on practical learning and enables participants to put into practice the skills and information gained on the course.

The course is tailored to meet individual students’ needsto ensure that each participant gains the most benefit from the course. Prior to the course commencement students are asked to highlight specific areas of the industry that are of particular interest to them which are then incorporated into the course content.
